Me in a few phrases: dedicated, thoughtful, impatient, loving, realistic, eager, collaborative.
I love to travel with my husband, read, write, walk my dogs, bake, eat, decorate, paint, lead.
My path to becoming a senior leader in software consulting was a one with many moving parts, coincidences but most importantly, opportunity.
To start, during my pursuit of doubling bachelor's degrees in both Computer Science and Digital Technologies, I acknowledged that while I was a minority in the field, I was dedicated to filling the apparent gap between genders in the technology space. In my last year of school, I was granted an opportunity to attend a Microsoft boot-camp training where I was introduced to and learned the software that led me to my career.
From the boot-camp, I was offered a full-time, entry-level position to relocate to the greater Boston area to begin my career as a software consultant. With various client experiences over the years, I have been exposed to many different business problems then turned solutions, wearing many different hats along the way as well as many states traveled through.
Throughout my time managing teams as well as individuals, I've found a passion for helping others and providing thoughtful, constructive guidance along the way. Being a career coach as a part of my responsibilities in my current role, I am dedicated to defining career goals and continually tracking progress against them.
For some of my extracurriculars, I spend my downtime assisting my close friends and family with their resumes, upcoming interviews and formulation of responses to various interactions in their professions. I enjoy helping out where I can and sharing my advice to those who ask.
To expand on that, I've spent time blogging in the past few years and figured now what the time to organize that in a more desirable fashion and sharing my thoughts and assistance with a broader audience.
As a visitor here, you are part of a community dedicated to bettering themselves, self-reflecting and going through more thoughtful processes to formulate responses. I'd love to hear from you more on your experiences, lessons, areas for improvement and requests for further guidance from myself. I hope somewhere down the road or even tomorrow, you can apply this insight in your day-to-day.
Remember, the first step is making time for improvements and everyone starts somewhere!
